Description from the packaging:

The Earth trembles... your panzer company is rolling again, always deeper, always onwards into the hostile expanse known as Russia. Your orders are to proceed with caution, as you know that every wooded copse can harbor an enemy T-34 or Anti-tank battery.

Suddenly, the sharp and familiar crack of Russian cannon fire alerts you to an encounter on your right flank. One of your light reconnaissance tanks has been hit and explodes in a burst of flames. But the enemy gun position is now detected. Quickly two of your Panthers close in for the kill. In a noisome exchange the Russian strong point is silenced.

Panzer-Jagd (German for Tank Hunt) is a truly remarkable graphic game of armored warfare on the Eastern Front of World War II. You begin the game in command of an assault force consisting of 25 armored and infantry units with Regimental artillery support. Each unit represents about one infantry or tank platoon. Your mission is to advance across a series of randomly-generated terrain maps literally laced with ambush points. Not only must you look out for the enemy, but you must also keep a watchful eye on each panzer unit's fuel supply; running out of petrol on the Russian steppe spells certain doom. Units that survive the initial encounter are available for the next battle (a new map is created). Your goal is to go as far as possible with the allotted forces.

The computer checks all lines of sight and calculates all "To Hit" and "To Kill" probabilities. You simply lock in the target with your joystick controller and Fire! There is no "pretending you don't know" where the enemy is as you maneuver your forces, you really Don't Know enemy locations until they open fire.
Playing Time: 1 to 4 hours, depending on the skill of the commander.
